READ ME. And Participate.

Hello all!
I'm hosting a contest for TOMS so you should all participate and tell yo' frennz.
Here are the rules: Email me (maryrose93@gmail.com) a picture of you wearing your favorite pair of socks (Preferably a picture of just your feet wearing the socks so I can be able to see these precious socks better). THE WINNER who has the best, funniest, most creative pair of socks will get the book "Start Something That Matters" by Blake Mycoskie (the creator of TOMS).  You may be thinking, "I'll win...a book?" Yes, yes you will. But this book is grand. If you are a supporter of TOMS and the cause they are involved in, then you may find the story of TOMS, the experiences from Blake, and his happiness found through Charity enough to consider a good read.
So that's it. Send me a picture and you may win an awesome book! Simple as that. Spread the word!

Bad news.
BYU-I is banning SKINNY JEANS.
Why oh why??
I love this school and respect it's leaders but...
what is classified as a "skinny" jean?
Some people just fill out jeans more than others.
They can't help it!
It's just a fad, it will pass and how are they really going to enforce that?
Come on now. Ridiculous.
Petition against the honor code...? Is that bad...?

Hello. We're Gettin' Official.

Hello fellow bloggers! It has been while so I figure I should update you.
I changed my major! Communication it is. And I'm planning on clustering in International Studies and Photography. Yes, plans change but that plan sounds pretty good to me. If you don't know already, I'm in love with Humanitarian Aid and so I want to have a major that was to do with Non-profit Organizations and Humanitarian Aid. I really feel like that will be a useful major in this world with all the natural disasters and people everywhere who are in need.
So I guess that's big news.
Now here are some pictures of life recently.
P.S. KEEP READING MY BLOG. DO IT. BECAUSE...I'm going to be hosting a contest soon and the winner gets something that has to do with TOMS.....so KEEP CHECKING BACK. And tell your friends. I keep you posted and I'll do the contest on facebook too. :)

Haunted Mazes

I don't know why it is, but when it comes to haunted things...I am a baby. On Wednesday night Erin, Mikenzie and I went to a haunted maze but did we know it was going to be haunted? NO. So basically no one told me I was supposed to bring depends. And apparently it's a dumb idea to run away from the scary people dressed up because THEY CHASE YOU. Which is ridiculous. So I spent my time running and hiding behind random people I came across. But I learned that if you try to make small talk with the creepy people, or you just don't react, they go away. We carried on some nice conversations with them and they helped us find poor Mikenzie because she got lost. But the ones that have hair...I dont know why but they scare the heebie jeebies out of me. Something about fake hair....
And we won a Jamba gift card, a grocery store giftcard and a bucket of cleaners in the maze. Only college students would be excited about a grocery store giftcard and a bucket of cleaners...

Hello Belly Shirt. You Must Be New Here.

Sad news. Bad news. Tragic news. Horrid news. I am ashamed. So so very very ashamed. Why...? Because...I SHRUNK MY SHIRT. But wait there's more. I JUST bought it. I've only worn it twice! And I FREAKING LOVE it. Well now it's a belly shirt. I guess that was cool...in the 90's. But Modest is Hottest. So now I'll just cry and morn over that lovely shirt...
 Here's a picture.
That's the shirt BEFORE.

Now imagine it half that size. :( :( :(
:(
P.S. I just went home to visit and it was sublime. That picture was from the visit. More coming soon. Miss you chicas.

It's Not A Party Unless Somebodys Barfing

Hello dear blogging friends. It has been too long. I would like to make up for my absence by telling you a freaking awesome story.
Ok so. Our apartment was in Apartment Wars with this other apartment of guys. So during church we snuck in their apartment and sprayed EVERYTHING with this pumpkin spray which smells good, but oodles of it is BARFY. Then we hung up an awesome unicorn poster and took their towels, shower curtain, all their pillows and their couch cushions. And they live on campus so...well...they didn't really have anything else left in their apartment. Hahahaha suckers (I mean lollipops...). Well when they got home from church they decided to play dumb act like nothing happened. Well. That night (or I should say the next morning) at 2AM we hear this POUNDING on the door and it wakes us up. Have you ever been woken up from your slumber due to pounding? It is SCARY. Tori runs in our room and tells us someone is at the door and we all didn't know what to do. So we turned off the lights and hopped back in bed, hoping whoever it was would leave. Well then Tori gets a call from her boy toy telling her to open the door. And we're like: Heck. Freaking. No. We though it was them (or their scary roommate). Then he tells Tori to look out the window, so we do and what do we see? Popcorn poppin-- just kidding. We see THE FUZZ. THE COPS. THE PO PO (well...two cop cars). So we're freaking out because we thought they called the cops on us for taking their freaking pillows. We answer the door and the cop tells us to get the boys stuff we took and bring it downstairs. So we do. Please remember. It is 2AM and we are groady in our jammies. He brings us to Tori's car where we see Erin and Tori's boy toys TAKING THE TIRES OFF HER CAR. Their plan was to take all the tires off and put her car on wooden blocks. And they were succeeding UNTIL...somebody called the cops on them thinking they were stealing Tori's car. Hahahaha. So they explained to the officers how this was just a prank and we had to clarify that we knew them and all the jazz. If we didn't, the cop decided to scare by saying we could be charged with breaking and entering and they could be charged with grand theft auto. Well let me just inform you that we didn't "break" in. They left their door UNLOCKED!! Well long story short, it was embarrassing cause we were in our pajamas with the fuzz and everyone in our complex was either looking out their window or on their balcony starring at us. Great. Good impression. But the policemen were actually SOO NICE. They said "Thanks for entertaining us for a little bit. This is actually pretty funny. One of the best pranks we've seen and we get this a lot because it's a college town." And then they just talked with us and joked around and it was hunky dory UNTIL we see our apartment manager come down...oh no. We were all freaking out when we saw her MORE then we saw the police. But she was pretty understanding! All she said was "You guys owe me cookies". And she's prego so she has every right to be anal!!
So. Something that could have ended VERY badly actually turned out ok. And now I have a story to tell my future children. I'd prefer not having anymore encounters with the police anytime soon though...especially because we weren't even more then two weeks into school when this happened. Way to start off.
Now here are some pics of recent occurrences:

Life As A Spud

Hey ya'll. I hate that I've sucked at blogging lately. But I'll try to do better.
College is still pretty good. I've had a few stress-freak-out moments but it's still grand! Mostly I just miss my friends! Here I'm meeting tons of new people and I have all my freaking amazing roomies, but I miss my other friends! I wish somehow I could stay at BYU-I, but have my friends here with me, and maybe see my family once a week. It sucks because I can't come home UNTIL THANKSGIVING. What the freak. Yeah. Thanksgiving. The parentals are too paranoid. But I'm 18....so maybe I'll just hop on home sometime anyway, we'll see. So the social life is great (a little too great for Tori and Erin...hahahahahaha) and this school is amazing. But I feel like I missing something still. I just don't know what. Maybe it's money....I NEED A JOB. Oh well. Whatever. I'll just eat worms for every meal. And the job I was supposed to maybe get...CAN SUCK IT. Anyway, life is good. I love it here. I miss you all.
P.S. After having to take care of myself, I finally understand how annoying
it is to clean up after people. This results in a post it note in the kitchen saying
"Yeah, our mom's aren't here to clean up after us." Aka: Cleanliness is next to
Godliness. OK BYE.

College Life

Most of you have already talked about your college experience so far and all that jazz but since I just arrived here in Idaho almost a week ago, here is my posty post.
College is...one big party. This past week has been a blast. Minus the dumb freshman orientation stuff... Now that school has actually started, it's kinda stressful and it's weird to have to balance stuff out so much. But it's good! I'm lovin' it. Here are some highlights:
It took awhile for all 6 of us roommates to be able to talk to each other. We had all been so busy moving in all day. Well Thursday night we literally were together for 5 minutes when of course...we thought of this crazy, spontaneous, immature, insane plan (like always) and we acted on that plan. PRFL!!!!!!!!! Then we've had various adventures such as: Dance parties, Kiwi Loco, Doorbell ditching, Dr. Pepper Brownies, more party rockin', tool invasion or immature freshman boys, dressing up, music videos, and so many random things.
About school: My math teacher is EXACTLY like a math teacher from a movie. He's a nice man but...he has a comb over...glasses...and a speech impediment.
And in choir...we're singing Battle of Jericho.
And in Book of Mormon I learned...something about Tori and The Brave Little Toaster. :)

I hope to learn...

Some things in college.
For example:
How to cook
How to iron a shirt
How to use a crockpot
How to do my laundry
How to speak German
How to be sincere
How to save my money
How to not procrastinate
How to be more friendly
How to breakdance :)
How to get married (totally kidding)
How to eat healthy (seriously)
How to enjoy learning
How to play the guitar
And many other things.
But I need to start sometime. So why not now?
Or, well... in 3 days.

The Quest for the Best Navajo Taco: Complete.

Navajo Hogan.
Pretty sure that's the winner.
Since there really aren't any other navajo taco restaurants...
Tori was like family here because she used to go every week.
Too bad we didn't get one "on the house".
I've always wanted to get something on the house...
Don't judge the plate. Judge the taco.
And the taco was good.

So Long Deseret Book

Saturday was my last day at the beloved Deseret Book. And it was pretty bittersweet. I am so excited and relieved to be done with those 6 hour shifts (and me feet are pretty relieved too). I am so happy I don't have to wear collared shirts anymore. And I'm so happy to be done with retail (for the time being). But there are some things I actually am really going to miss. Like the atmosphere. Deseret Book is a super unique place to work at. Who knew you could feel the spirit while you worked? It's a wonderful environment (even though some people like to freak out just because we're all out of beehive cake stands). Then there's the Lion House brownies and muffins. Yummm. And most of all I will miss the employees. I love them all (most of the time :D). I really am going to miss them so much. So thank you Deseret Book for a great time. It's been real. Maybe I'll see you again soon?

Sometimes there is honor in revenge

Hey folksies. It has been WAY too long. Or...maybe it really hasn't, I just feel like it has. About the title of this blog, just embrace it. It's true. Ok. I am SO excited to start college. But Idaho starts after all yall' so I'm just hanging out here watching you guys enjoy your freshman life. But let me tell ya, it is making me so excited for college!! I can't wait any longer! 1 week and 3 days!

DUST
Get rid of ugly clothes
Sort through my childhood boxes
Buy new clothes
Buy more college crap
Get a job for college
Go to Navajo Hogan
See everyones apartments
Doctors appointments
Change my major
Make pillows
and who the heck knows what else.

What did you do this week? Well I rescued a dog.

Top that.
Here's the story.
I was off to Walmart with Aaron to shop for college butt (:D) when I walked out the door a little doggy ran up to me. I looked at it's collar and the tag was missing. Oh dear. I took it to my neighbors to see if it was theirs, but twas not. They did however give me a vet tag they found in the grass that could be the dogs. But you see, then I had this inner quarrel with myself. To save the dog and find it's home...or not? I see dogs running around on the side of the road all the time but I never stop to help. But this time, I just had to. If I saw this little doggy dead on the side of the road because it got hit by a car, I would never forgive myself. I could call the pound? No, no. That just seemed like it wasn't a good option. So I decided to do what I could and cancel our trip to Walmart.
I tried a couple different people in my neighborhood but it wasn't their dog. So now what was I to do? I took it in my backyard and let it play with Rocky. But it didn't really play...it just hid. Then I tried to feed it...but Rocky kept eating all the food. My mom was in a meeting and my brothers and dad left so they left me alone to take care of this poor animal. Gee thanks.
Here's a little disclaimer: ...When it comes to animals...I am super emotional. Therefore, while trying to take care of this dog and call my mom for help, I had to try to keep my tears inside my eye sockets. I was upset, I felt bad for the dog and I didn't know what to do. Now. Enough of the sob story. I just don't like when people lose their pets. It makes me feel like they don't care about their pets. And if they do notice they're gone, why aren't the frantically searching? What if it was my dog or cat? I would love whoever decided to rescue them if they escaped.
So after a few hours and 23 mosquito bites, my neighbor came over to take the doggy for the night. And GOOD NEWS. They called the vet (from the tag) and eventually found the owner. Her name was Sweetie and now Sweetie is home safe and not run over.
Maybe I'll start being a dog rescuer more often. But next time I need to prepare by having my night completely free, bringing a tissue box and bug spray.

My Mute Presents...

Another video log.
Go HERE for video logs 1-3.
I will miss you Harry.
P.S. "Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"
"Of course it is happening inside your head, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?"

P.P.S. Job 30:29-30
29. I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.
30. My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.

May I Confess?

Here it goes.
I am obsessed with four things.
Things that I have never been obsesssed with before.
It's all because of my friends.
I give it a try because they tell me to
and then I'm hooked.
What is it I'm talking about?
Drugs.
Just Kidding.
 TV shows.
And those TV shows are:
Pushing Daisies
Drop Dead Diva
The Bachelorette
  Just adding this for kicks...
Ashley BETTER pick JP.

Vampire Diaries
I've only watched one episode of this so we'll see what happens.

So if you're ever bored and you're a fan of these shows, lets have a party.

The Most Fantasmagorical Musical Entertainment In the History of Everything

You need to indulge.
Wonderful movie, horrible trailer.
Which makes it probably one of the funniest trailers ever.
So be prepared.
Make sure to watch all the way through.
It gets even better.
And remember:
It's not Chitty Chitty Bark Bark
or Chitty Chitty Boing Boing
It's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Tis Poetry In Motion

Muppet Treasure Island says it all.
This song is how I feel about heading off to college:

Embrace that soprano voice.

And if you are so enclined to be graced with another song:

Please shut the door and floss your teeth.

Hello friends. It has been awhile, but never fear I shall return shortly. Let me explain my absence: I like to blog with pictures but I don't have any of my pictures or photoshop at the momento, which I shall explain later, so you get to hold tight for the good stuff :)
Now I'd like to give you a challenge. Go listen to someone floss. It's one of those few despicable sounds on this planet.
I think I'll aspire to be a floss model.

P.S. Spencer comes home in 10 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
