The Quest for the Best Navajo Taco: Complete.

Navajo Hogan.
Pretty sure that's the winner.
Since there really aren't any other navajo taco restaurants...
Tori was like family here because she used to go every week.
Too bad we didn't get one "on the house".
I've always wanted to get something on the house...
Don't judge the plate. Judge the taco.
And the taco was good.

So Long Deseret Book

Saturday was my last day at the beloved Deseret Book. And it was pretty bittersweet. I am so excited and relieved to be done with those 6 hour shifts (and me feet are pretty relieved too). I am so happy I don't have to wear collared shirts anymore. And I'm so happy to be done with retail (for the time being). But there are some things I actually am really going to miss. Like the atmosphere. Deseret Book is a super unique place to work at. Who knew you could feel the spirit while you worked? It's a wonderful environment (even though some people like to freak out just because we're all out of beehive cake stands). Then there's the Lion House brownies and muffins. Yummm. And most of all I will miss the employees. I love them all (most of the time :D). I really am going to miss them so much. So thank you Deseret Book for a great time. It's been real. Maybe I'll see you again soon?

Sometimes there is honor in revenge

Hey folksies. It has been WAY too long. Or...maybe it really hasn't, I just feel like it has. About the title of this blog, just embrace it. It's true. Ok. I am SO excited to start college. But Idaho starts after all yall' so I'm just hanging out here watching you guys enjoy your freshman life. But let me tell ya, it is making me so excited for college!! I can't wait any longer! 1 week and 3 days!
But before I leave I have do some very important things like:
Have a bonfire
Make Mr. Davis cookies
Sell my Acappella dress
Alyssa's birthday
Gloria's Little Italy
Tayler's birthday
Watch When In Rome
Pack
DUST
Get rid of ugly clothes
Sort through my childhood boxes
Buy new clothes
Buy more college crap
Get a job for college
Go to Navajo Hogan
See everyones apartments
Doctors appointments
Change my major
Make pillows
and who the heck knows what else.

What did you do this week? Well I rescued a dog.

Top that.
Here's the story.
I was off to Walmart with Aaron to shop for college butt (:D) when I walked out the door a little doggy ran up to me. I looked at it's collar and the tag was missing. Oh dear. I took it to my neighbors to see if it was theirs, but twas not. They did however give me a vet tag they found in the grass that could be the dogs. But you see, then I had this inner quarrel with myself. To save the dog and find it's home...or not? I see dogs running around on the side of the road all the time but I never stop to help. But this time, I just had to. If I saw this little doggy dead on the side of the road because it got hit by a car, I would never forgive myself. I could call the pound? No, no. That just seemed like it wasn't a good option. So I decided to do what I could and cancel our trip to Walmart.
I tried a couple different people in my neighborhood but it wasn't their dog. So now what was I to do? I took it in my backyard and let it play with Rocky. But it didn't really play...it just hid. Then I tried to feed it...but Rocky kept eating all the food. My mom was in a meeting and my brothers and dad left so they left me alone to take care of this poor animal. Gee thanks.
Here's a little disclaimer: ...When it comes to animals...I am super emotional. Therefore, while trying to take care of this dog and call my mom for help, I had to try to keep my tears inside my eye sockets. I was upset, I felt bad for the dog and I didn't know what to do. Now. Enough of the sob story. I just don't like when people lose their pets. It makes me feel like they don't care about their pets. And if they do notice they're gone, why aren't the frantically searching? What if it was my dog or cat? I would love whoever decided to rescue them if they escaped.
So after a few hours and 23 mosquito bites, my neighbor came over to take the doggy for the night. And GOOD NEWS. They called the vet (from the tag) and eventually found the owner. Her name was Sweetie and now Sweetie is home safe and not run over.
Maybe I'll start being a dog rescuer more often. But next time I need to prepare by having my night completely free, bringing a tissue box and bug spray.

Roses are red

Violets are blue.
I will post
in a week or two.

But for now I must dedicate my time to par-tea-ing on the beach.
But never fear, I shall return.
