Tron Religion

Yesterday as an early birthday celebration for Sarah Jean, Rachel, McKann, Erin, Sarah and I went to see Tron.I have heard some negative things about this movie but I actually liked it! Why? Two words.Garrett Hedlund. He's only 26. It could happen. Anyway, there are many religious references/symbols in Tron. I'll list some examples. Just go with it.
-The girl describes when everything went dark and then she felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked up and someone was above her. I'm thinkin' Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove.
-Sam, Flynn's son has to save the world and the people.
-Sam tries to explain the sun but he says it is indescribable. The son's brightness and glory defies all description.
-And the biggest similarity is the whole idea of the world of Tron. Flynn, the creator of the Tron world, made someone in his own image.
-At the end they walk up these steps, into the light. AKA: Heaven.
And those are just a few examples.

  3. I agree totally Mary! I saw it today and I had the same feelings. It was cool! I liked the whole Clue idea and the quest for perfection. "Perfection is something unknowable but it is always right in front of our face." Pretty cool idea.
